Money and Happiness

The majority of people in the world strive to obtain as much money as they can and become rich. They believe that happiness can be bought from money. It’s true that you can buy things for your entertainment and enjoyment but still the most important things can never be bought. Most people’s strive for money endures even after their requirements have been fulfilled. We quickly forget about what is important and start wishing about obtaining material possessions.

Obsession over money is very unhealthy. We don’t require any additional money. Money can only be used to buy things that distract us from what is truly important. Think about it this way. Imagine you are feeling very down and feeling depressed. Money can’t comfort you in this situation. The only ones that can truly comfort you are your family members. You can buy all the gadgets and things you want and it gives you happiness but it can’t ever give you everlasting happiness. The feeling of this happiness soon wears off and you’re left with nothing. There are much more important things that can make you genuinely happy. Family and friends are definitely more important than money. The support and confidence they have in you is something you can never get from money. The memories and experiences that you have are also more important than a lot of money. Though money can help with fun activities that you can do it doesn’t mean that you need it. Just think about it, what gives you true and everlasting happiness? It is true that you require money but it should be kept to your necessities. It should not get to your head and cloud your judgment.
