To learn about marketing the first thing we have to learn is, what is marketing? Marketing is the activity or procedure of creating and delivering products that have value for your customers. First thing you need to do in marketing is know what are the needs of the people in the area you are planning on selling. Now a trick that you can use in marketing is the five w’s, one h and one m and o. This is what they are:

What: What are you marketing?

Who: Who are your customers?

When: When will you market to your customers?

Why: What is your objective?

Where: In which channel will you market?

How: How will you do it?

Measure and Optimize: How will you track and manage for success.

After this you will decide which type of marketing to use. There are two types of marketing, digital marketing and traditional marketing. Now in these two which one is better and which one is more common nowadays.

Traditional Marketing VS Digital Marketing by Hamza

Traditional Marketing:

Traditional marketing is a form of marketing that reaches an audience offline. It is done through newspapers, magazines, radio, direct mail, billboards, fliers etc. Its limitations are that you have very little interaction with your audience. It has high costs. You have limited customization options. It is also non-versatile. You can’t measure your campaign properly.

Digital Marketing:

It is a form of marketing in which you reach your audience through social media, email and more online devices and apps. It has many uses. It has a very large global reach. You can have very easy conversations with your audience. You can easily measure your campaign. It is very efficient in the matter of cost. The amount of people that use digital marketing was about 4.66 billion in January of 2021. Some things included in digital marketing are:

Content Marketing:

It is the content that attracts your audiences’ attention and is the thing that you are marketing to them. Having better content can increase your sales which is why this is very important.

SEO

Its full form is search engine optimization which is the practice of increasing your content and optimizing your website to make it better in order to increase your chances of appearing in the search engine result pages. A question that comes to mind is, how do we do this? Having high quality content can increase your chances of getting higher on search engine result pages. Choosing the perfect keywords that people type in is also a way of getting to the top. This will make your content more discoverable which means more people can see it. There are two ways to promote your content:

  1. Organic Promotion: This is the act of naturally gaining customers over time, not through paid links.

2. Paid Promotion: This is the act of gaining customers through paying for any media space, mostly through advertisements.

Media:

Media is the different formats that you use to communicate with your audience. There are four types of media:

  1. Earned Media: It is the publicity you gain through advertising or owned media.

2. Paid Media: It is the marketing that you pay for.

3. Owned Media: It is the property that you own and can control.

4. Shared Media: It is the content that is shared on social media or between multiple owners.
